Before you read on, run a quick test. Open your favorite AI — it can be ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or even the summary Google already shows at the top of the search results. Paste your website address and ask something like this:
“Is this website ready to be cited in an AI search summary? If so, on which topics would it be recommended?”
Read the answer carefully. Does it say what you expected? Was your site recognized as a reference for what you actually do? Or did the AI respond vaguely, as if it barely knew who you are?
If you didn’t like the result, that’s exactly what we need to talk about.
Search has changed, and most websites haven’t kept up
You’ve probably noticed it already: when you search on Google, a block of text written by artificial intelligence appears before the traditional links. That’s the AI Overview. The same thing happens when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Bing a question. The person asks something and gets a ready-made answer, with one or two brands cited as the source.
The question that matters for your business is direct: when the AI builds that answer, is your site among the sources it chooses?
In most cases today, the answer is no. And it’s almost never because your work falls short. It’s because your website wasn’t built to be understood by these models.
What GEO is and why it complements the SEO you already know
For a long time, showing up on the first page of Google depended on repeating the right keywords throughout the text. That’s traditional SEO, and it still applies. But a new layer has emerged, called GEO, short for Generative Engine Optimization.
The difference is fundamental. The old search engines read the words on your page. The language models behind AIs try to understand the context, the authority, and the intent of what you publish. They don’t just want to know what you say, but whether you are a trustworthy source to say it.
For your brand to make it into an AI’s answer, your site needs to speak the language of these models. That’s where our work begins.
How Conexione prepares your website for AI search
At Conexione, we don’t just deliver a beautiful, fast website. We build platforms designed to be read, mapped, and recommended by artificial intelligence. In practice, this comes down to three fronts.
Structured data (Schema Markup). AIs trust organized information. We add markup to your site’s code that visitors don’t see, but that tells crawlers exactly who your company is, what you offer, who is behind it, and where you operate. This removes ambiguity and helps the AI understand your specialty within the first few seconds.
Content in answer format. People have stopped typing “marketing agency rio de janeiro.” Now they ask “which is the best agency to build a website that shows up in AI searches in Rio?” We structure your pages and blog posts to answer real questions in an objective way. When the AI looks for a direct answer, that’s the kind of passage it pulls from.
Authority signals. Google works with a set of criteria summarized in the acronym E-E-A-T: experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness. We organize your site’s service pages and content so each one proves, in practice, that your brand owns the subject. These are the signals the algorithms look for before recommending anyone.
Why a website built a few years ago tends to be left out
A website created two or three years ago was designed for a scenario that has already changed. If the code is messy, if there’s no schema markup aimed at your niche, or if the text is generic, AIs simply won’t include your brand in the answer. And the harshest detail is that this happens before any click. You lose visibility without even entering the race.
Shall we put your website on the AIs’ radar?
The shift toward AI search is not a bet on the future. It’s happening now, in every search your customers make. If you want your website to stop merely accumulating visits and become the reference that AIs recommend, the work lies in the structure behind it.
That’s what Conexione – Estratégia, Branding e Comunicação takes care of.
Took the test at the start and didn’t like what the AI said about your website? Get in touch. We’ll analyze where the noise is and design the strategy to position your business in this new search format.
